BC Wood is a not-for-profit trade association that has represented Canadian value-added wood products industry for 30 years. Our Tokyo Office is here to help companies in Japan to access both Canadian building products as well as information on the latest in wood construction technologies.

Product Sourcing

BC Wood can introduce you to a variety of high-quality Canadian wood products as well as help you either source them directly from Canada or through Japanese distributors. As a part of this, BC Wood also takes part in 3-4 major Japanese trade shows each year.

Showroom

Our Tokyo office showroom is conveniently located between Daikanyama and Ebisu Stations. We have a selection of products and samples on display as well as catalogues in both Japanese and English.

Industry Information

We can provide you with information on a variety of Canadian wood building solutions including 2x4 and mass timber as well as give advice on building in Japan and finding local partners. As a part of our mission, we also bring in experts to speak at seminars in Japan.

Global Buyers Mission

Every September BC Wood's HQ hosts the global wood industry for a 3 day event in Whistler. The GBM includes opportunities to meet suppliers, take part in talks on wood construction/mass timber as well as join site visits.

Wood Construction

BC Wood has operated in Japan for nearly 30 years helping the Japanese construction industry learn about and utilize Canadian wood solutions. This started with 2x4 and log homes but now also covers large wood buildings using mass timber in commercial buildings and dynamic heavy timber in luxury homes.

Even if you don't use wood as your main building structure, you can elevate any project by incorporating the warmth and style of wood in finishing applications. On the exterior, Western Red Cedar is a top choice due to its decay resistance and luxurious appearance. There are many choices for interiors ranging from artistic furniture and cabinetry to decorative millwork.
